SUPPORT LOCAL DURING COVID-19
A special request from Lakes Realty Group….
As we all consider the Corona virus and the impact that it is making on our family lives, professional lives, and the economy, there are things that we can do personally to help:
Buy Local.
More than ever, our small businesses need your support!
With the sudden closing of restaurants starting Monday, many local restaurants offer drive-up service when you order ahead (TIP generously!)
Many small businesses would be happy to meet you at your car for your pre-orders
Purchase gift cards from local businesses to use later
Focus on purchasing local produce and supporting local farmers
Don’t panic, local businesses have ramped up their cleaning practices to ensure their businesses are sanitized and clean for your visit
Many local businesses have Facebook pages and websites. Instead of shopping on Amazon, shop local and have those items delivered to you or ready for pick-up
Here's another blog with more ideas on ways you can support the community
Local Assistance.
Some are more fortunate than others within our community. Some live paycheck to paycheck and do not have the funds to stock up as others have.
We may see this gap more pronounced in the next week or two, especially as businesses are forced to close their doors.
Generously share when you can.
Some elderly are either afraid to shop or cannot navigate through crowds easily - please reach out to your elderly ones to help.
If you’re sick - stay home.
We cannot stress the importance of this enough.
If you think you've been in contact with someone with COVID, please self-quarantine.
Follow the CDC’s Guidelines
- Wash your hands with hot soapy water for 20 seconds
- Use alcohol-based sanitizer if washing hands is not an option.
- Stay no closer than than 6 feet apart
- Elbow bump instead of shaking hands or hugging
- Avoiding contact with those with compromised immune systems
- Cover nose and mouth when you are coughing with a tissue.

Be Kind.
Take time to practice and spread kindness and optimism.
Our fellow residents need this more now than ever. Realize that people are panicking and can be rude. Give them extra space. Your kindness and smiles have far-reaching affects.
